Artificial Jellyfish made from Rat Heart

Researchers at Harvard University have made an artificial jellyfish using a sheet of silicone and rat heart cells. A biophysicist at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Kit Parker says, “Morphologically, we’ve built a jellyfish. Functionally, we’ve built a jellyfish. Genetically, this thing is a rat.” The next step, he said, is to “pick another animal that has a more difficult anatomy and function, and build it.
